The Hungarian real estate market is in a huge upswing
July 17th, 2015

Sales were at a near-record level in the Hungarian real estate market in June: 12 184 estates changed hands, which is a strong 40 percent increase from last year's same period.

Most recent transaction estimates by Duna House real estate agent network reveal that there was only one month in a year with stronger numbers than June: in March the number of transactions was slightly higher.

In 2014 June however only around 8700 estates were sold – and this was already in the upswing of the market, when number of sales started to rise after the recession.

This year market traffic in June tops that with almost 40 percent, and it is higher almost 70 percent than in the weakest year following the recession, which was 2013.

In the first half of 2015 more than 68300 transactions were registered. In the first half of 2014 only 45700 transactions took place, which means this year’s results are one and a half times higher. If we calculate the usual seasonality and the impact of the recently launched CSOK, this year's overall results could easily reach even the level of 150 thousand transactions.
