Brick Apartments Were Sold for HUF 163-350 Thousand per Square Meter
In the western side of the country brick apartments and in the eastern side panel apartments were more expensive in the second month of 2015. Brick apartments were sold for HUF 163 thousand and panel apartments for HUF 135 thousand per square meter on average. In Budapest brick apartments were sold for HUF 350 thousand in Buda and for HUF 233 thousand in Pest per square meter, and panel apartments for HUF 275 thousand in Buda and for HUF 216 thousand in Pest per square meter.
The 13th District Was the Most Popular
More apartments were sold in each district in February 2015. The 13th district was the most popular, which was followed by the 6th, the 7th, the 9th and the 14th district. One-third of the property buyers bought an apartment as an investment, for HUF 14.3 million on average. 31 percent of the buyers bought their first own apartment, for HUF 13.6 million, and those who moved to a bigger apartment spent HUF 13 million. In the country investors spent less than HUF 9 million, and first apartment buyers spent 9.4 million on average.
More and More Expensive Apartments Get Sold
30 percent of the buyers were in their 30s, and 26 percent in their 60s. In Budapest 37 percent sold an inheritance property; this rate was 25 percent in the country. In Buda the value of sold apartments increased: in 2014 half of the apartments were sold for HUF 5-15 million, and in 2015 for HUF 10-20 million. The rate of apartments sold for HUF 5-10 million was 29 percent in Pest and 52 percent in the country.
